Case study: adapting our lights for the LSE
A recent project demonstrates Chad’s ability to adapt its lighting to suit the constraints of an existing building.
One of Chad’s strengths is its ability to work with the various stakeholders involved in a project. In a recent example, Chad was asked by The London School of Economics to supply their Luna light for use in a student halls of residence. It was not feasible to mount the standard version of the Luna light as it would not have been possible to bury cable inside the solid interior walls.
After discussions with the procurement team and electrical contractors, a solution was found which involved adapting the Luna mounting box to allow standard electrical trunking to be used. This was a cost effective remedy which complied with safety standards and enabled LSE to continue specifying their reading light of choice.
